Seattle Kraken Game Time!

Seattle, WA – The ice was glistening at the Kraken practice facility after the Zamboni made its final pass. Then the Seattle Kraken took to the ice for a morning skate leading up to their trip to Edmonton and then Calgary for rounds two and three of the preseason. The vibe was relaxed but the work was just beginning.

Tonight’s clash with the Edmonton Oilers will see a different team from game one. Here are the projected lines from the skate:

Johansson – Geekie – Lind

Donato – Jarnkrok – True

Tanev – Sheahan – Appleton

Bastian – Henman – Twarynski

Borgen – Oleksiak

Evans – Dunn

Carrick – Lauzon

Chris Driedger will play the first two periods making way for Joey Daccord to play the third.

As for the rest of the squad, they will all be making the trip to Canada. Word is the lineup will be completely different for the Calgary game, so expect to get a good glimpse of all the players in the next few games.

You can find Edmonton’s starting lineup HERE.

Joey Daccord, Jeremy Lauzon, Will Borgen, Carsen Twarynski, the first-ever Kraken Luke Henman, Alexander True, and Kole Lind will all see their first game action of the season tonight. The coaching staff has said they want to get a good look at these guys in game action. That sixth defensive spot is up for grabs and tonight Borgen and Lauzon have a chance to make their case.

“Second” Team

Yanni Gourde was on the third rink this morning with the rest of the players not in the lineup tonight. Gourde was standing net-front deflecting shots from Adam Larsson and Dennis Cholowski. Giordano was feeding pucks to them from the half-boards. Jared McCann seems like the team jokester. Coach Dan Bylsma was leading this rag-tag group of vets and PTO guys.

  • A New York Ranger fan living in the Pacific Northwest resisting with all my might, the temptation to become a Kraken fan. Hockey has been in my blood since I was 7-years-old. I played in high school, I played Juniors, and I played in College. Even though my favorite players were Adam Graves and Pavel Bure, I wore #22 during my whole playing career due to Dino Ciccarelli. I have extensive knowledge of the game and I love basic stats and the "eye test". Kraken the Ice is going to bring you tons of info about the Seattle Kraken, the NHL, and more!
