“We Wear the ‘S’” is a weekly column filled with updates and quick hits on the team, the players, and all the Kraken info that floats to the surface.

  • A few days ago, the Seattle Kraken released the jersey numbers for the first 37 players in their history. Kraken the Ice is actively introducing you to the players, starting with the projected first line here.
  • Official Seattle Kraken jerseys go on sale September 15th and they will be emblazoned with this patch to mark their first season in the league. If you are a collector in any way, you will need one of these.
  • Two player signings you may have missed. The first being Gustav Olofsson. The 6′ 3″ 200lb defender was selected 46th overall in 2013 and has since played 56 games at the NHL level. Just a little added depth and inspiration for the projected defensemen on the squad already. The second signing was Riley Sheahan. At 6′ 2″ 220lb this veteran adds depth to an already deep reserve group Mr. Francis had assembled. A former 1st round draft pick (21st overall back in 2010), Sheahan has played in 566 games and can give the young lads some much needed insight into what playing in the NHL is all about.

  • A New York Ranger fan living in the Pacific Northwest resisting with all my might, the temptation to become a Kraken fan. Hockey has been in my blood since I was 7-years-old. I played in high school, I played Juniors, and I played in College. Even though my favorite players were Adam Graves and Pavel Bure, I wore #22 during my whole playing career due to Dino Ciccarelli. I have extensive knowledge of the game and I love basic stats and the "eye test". Kraken the Ice is going to bring you tons of info about the Seattle Kraken, the NHL, and more!
